Where Bodies Sleep, Where Bodies Wake

20 JUNE-20 AUGUST 2025

‘Where Bodies Sleep, Where Bodies Wake’ explores the body as an archive of memory. It considers the ways we hold onto ancestral knowledge, how sleep becomes a site of subconscious inheritance, and how waking life is shaped by the weight of what came before. The exhibition moves between stillness and motion, between presence and absence, between forgetting and remembering, using the body as a vessel. These explorations take shape through prints, paintings, and sculpture, featuring artists from South Africa and Lesotho. Through their work, they reflect on the delicate and complex ways memory is carried within us across time and generations.
